I drove for four hours today without a plan, except for one, to get away! The weather finally warmed and I thought it would help me erase last night's drama. Once I clipped a quote from folklorist Zora Neale Hurston who said, "there are years that ask questions and years that answer." Today seemed like it would be a dunce day. My scavenger nature took over so I got lost inside thrift stores, trying to find the one good treasure. Old waffle irons like my grandma's with a plug that would burn the house down, German tea cups, piano music books, even someone's old reading glasses. Sometimes, when I'm looking for answers, I touch all these old relics, junk, things that people saved because they were afraid of losing the memory of their loved ones. I didn't buy anything today, but I did bring home my grandma's smile, Aunt Dot's family reunions, a canasta party in Mexico, and butterflies from 9th grade graduation.

Well, here I am, reinvented.. once again. Today was the second show with Wendy. There is such a feeling of "void" with my new adventure and at the same time I have a knowing that I am as old as the rocks and have traveled this way before. I will let you know more.
